I agreed with noobonour and other. I always use Resource Monitor to verify the activity of the software installation.
Most of the time happened during installing BMW_ISPI_ISTA-APP_4.xx.xx.xxxxx.msi, the installing bar is blank out not active and the installation progress is not moving at all, see the screenshot attached.

To run Resource Monitor.
1. Windows + R
2. resmon.exe
3. Disk => Arrow down

You are able to see the software is installing.
Let the ISTA Launcher do the work until the [OK] is highlighted.
