XZBMW  bmw gearbox
hi all

my son has 2012/ 1 series bmw
he has swapped zf8hp gearbox and now has no gear selection
i gather its because of the vin" isn.
first thing what tool can recode and change vin"isn other than icom.
after isn is changed do i just write the information back from the original gearbox to the new one.
i have latest autel maxisys ultra diags/ snapon / fvdi
any information on getting around this problem greatly appreciated .

other than icom, enet also can do. i can help if need to reset it.

Need reset ISN, then flash with e-sys, reset adaptation with ista.
Many tools can reset Isn like Autohex, Bimtool, Bmw explorer...
I can also reset Isn remotely with enet cable and teamwiewer
- Secure coding (NCD 2.0) fit to FA changed (Typschlussel, Serie, Region...).
- Remove component protection MGU18/21 (only case BDC replace).
- ID8.5 (SFA) conversion/ change region map.
- Virgin Kafas4, MRR, RAM used.
- Mgu patch, fsc custom match to vin, remove CP.
- Reset ISN 7DTC, 8HP for F, G serie (include EGS7).
- Write ISN MG1/MD1 with remotely.
- Carplay/Android Auto MGU with/without ATM (6AE).
