Hi, this guy tried to correct mileage on this van by obd, and he got the dash's*****, he got a similar file from another transit and when he was writing the file by obd he chose the wrong file, he says it was a Volkswagen file he wrote back and all the needles jumped up to max, would it be possible to restore this cluster, I will try to read the cluster tomorrow but I'm guessing that it's probably destroyed from writing the wrong file, would anyone have the pinout for this cluster to power up, it's 16 pin black connector,  cheers.

Hi all, I connected today with vvdi prog, I can I.D. the chip ok but it fails when I try to read or erase, so I assume this is because it's encrypted, what are his options now ?

Judging by the way smok makes them, it may be that the percentage is blocked. Smok flashes the processor and then unlocks it. There is a firmware in the smok base, but it cannot be used

Original smok is too expensive for me, I want to help the guy, but not that much lol , is there any other way to solve this issue, maybe if he picks up another matching cluster it can be adapted ? I got a feeling that this is going to be another 6 page episode

ok, i'm gonna walk away from this, it's not possible to read on the bench or in the van, cluster shows ***** and needles dont work, if the guy picks up a matching numbers cluster what equipment is needed to adapt the doner cluster ? cheers

If the panel has immo, I think the FDRS program will be needed, and if it doesn't have it, you can try forscan. They work through passthru
