XZBMW  Motorrad coding software with ICOM
Hi guys,

From here TokenMaster's blog it looks like he has disappeared around end of last year, so can't purchase Launcher Pro v5 any longer. I need E-sys launcher that will work with ICOM and latest (2023) BMW Motorrad bikes, can anyone suggest?

- Esys Ultra: Coding 2.0 not supported, but is that a problem for motorrad?
- BimmerUtility: Not sure about ICOM interface support, and motorrad functionality?

This comparison video from a year ago indicates that BimmerUtility does not support ICOM, but I guess that is fine because I can just use E-sys for that with data from BimmerUtility?

RE: Motorrad coding software with ICOM
I am evaluating E-sys Ultra with a 4-day trial, but I cannot het E-sys 22.06 to communicate with my R1250GSA using my ICOM.
It is a clone with FW rev 145, ICOM A1

I can see the ICOM with I-Tool Radar and link to is using ISTA+/Tool32

Anyone know what to do? I get a VCI Ethernet error and I've also tried reserving it in I-Tool Radar. Maybe I need a FW update?

RE: Motorrad coding software with ICOM
BU work definitely with ICOM!

Your problem that the canbridge is not on by default!

Try to connect with ISTA to the bike (read it the bike) and then it's done "paralel" start the e-sys.

RE: Motorrad coding software with ICOM
Just for future reference of anyone else that might have an issue connecting E-sys/BimmerUtility using ICOM with BMW Motorrad:
  1.  K001 chassis bike probably uses D-CAN interface so you need to specify "ICOM-IP":52410 (D-CAN port) rather than "ICOM-IP":50160 (Ethernet port), e.g. 169.254.92.101:52410. You will see the ICOM-IP in ISTA when connecting to vehicle interface, or use I-Tool Radar to find it
  2.  You need to do "Complete Vehicle Test" with ISTA to enable the D-CAN bridge - "Vehicle Identification without test" is not enough!
  3.  Then while keeping ISTA open connect to the D-CAN interface with BU/E-sys

I can confirm this. BU and E-sys will not work alone, ISTA must enable communications with the bike first (2018 R nineT).

I opened the ICOM web interface at the same time to see what was happening and it seems that by default only CAN is enabled by ICOM. When ISTA+ is run, it opens comms through Ethernet and E-Sys and BU can talk to the bike but I used port 52410 interestingly. Even stranger, this bike does not have ethernet comms (the wires are not physically installed in the OBD port) so I'm not sure of what is actually going on, it doesn't make sense to me. But it works.
