Tried adapting a 04L907309R ECU for CUNA golf but failed in ODIS as incorrect part

SW should be 04L906026BS

But there are two types of EDC17 ECU HW for this engine
04L907309A
04L907309R

WHich is correct?

first make immo and cp.. reflash it to needed sw by enginiring and than repead adaptation online.. but this will only work if hw is compatible

04L907309R should work
04L907309R is the HW id. This HW can hold many different SW for different engine power classes.
Before doing immo (there is no CP for ECUs) make sure:
1: The VIN in the donor ECU is of a VW vehicle (not AUDI or...) if not then you can't do immo with ODIS.
2: The SW inside is for a 184 HP engine otherwise it won't start even if you did immo with ODIS because it will be blocked by the immo of the car and you won't be able to flash it to a different SW.

Bosch ECU can do immo off, flash to correct sw, then do immo online by odis. It does not matter which brand or which engine code it is, as long as hw is same as original car

I'm quite sure you can't do online immo if ECU has a different brand VIN. But you never know when you're wrong until you know!
