RE: ODIS S- 7.2.1 Update from 2260 to 3090 failed
there are a lot of reasons to get that error including but not the only, insuficcient admin rights. My really strong advice for you is a fresh ODIS install and if the error remains then ... your windows needs a fresh start
If you think i helped you please do take 1 second and press THANKS button

If you have ODIS in VMWare, run ODIS as admin and also close all other programs atd... and make sure you have enough resources for VM. If re-downloading, and run as admin does not help, you should reinstall ODIS and install this update to clean the installation of ODIS. Also, you can try "take ownership" script for ODIS folders, but you can cause more damage. Hate electric vehicles + VMWare = my life

It can be useful if for example program cannot be uninstalled, but you have no permission to delete the program folder, etc... Hate electric vehicles + VMWare = my life

RE: ODIS S- 7.2.1 Update from 2260 to 3090 failed
I have similar issue.
I didn't manage to fix with normal uninstall/install procedure and I don't want to wipe out my primary computer, so I make this workaround which works for me: 1. completely uninstall OS 7.2.1 from your primary computer and delete following folders C:\Program Files (x86)\Offboard_Diagnostic_Information_System_Service\ C:\ProgramData\Offboard_Diagnostic_Information_System_Service\ 2. Install OS 7.2.1 on primary computer, but do not perform postinstallation update (is not needed). Just leave it as is. 3. Install OS 7.2.1 on second "clean" computer, install postinstallation update 3090 (you can use any version) and start app to test if everything OK. 4. If everything is OK, copy this folders from second computer to your primary computer and overwrite ALL files/folders: C:\Program Files (x86)\Offboard_Diagnostic_Information_System_Service\ C:\ProgramData\Offboard_Diagnostic_Information_System_Service\ 5. You can now start application on primary computer, should be work without any issues UPDATE: After workaround I have tested to run upgrade from 3090 to 3120 and worked like charm on primary computer ----------------------------------------------------------------------
