K1300 K40 - NCS expert On Board Computer coding explanation?
Hi !
I'd like to help a friend that bought a used k1300 to enable - Temperature reading (additional probe will be installed - fuel Range calculation - deactivate LAMPF warning due to led headlight - Tyre sensor température display -.. And everything that's possible His dash has the info button, from what I've read it means the Kombi is actually "OBC" compatible Reading the FSW_PWS with ncs expert give this Apparently the dash is the same as K25 (R1200GS ) - or at least ncs dummy identify as a K25 But some parameter doesnt make sense .. and i havent found the meaning ! Code: LANGUAGE_CODE What does mean - ZWEI_LITER_SYNCHRON - OAT_ENABLE ? - Tank display enable (what will it do?..) - ELSTANDSANZEIGE -OELSTANDSANZEIGE => Does it needs a new sensor ???? - BBVA -FFVB -FFBB - What does exact speed do compared to stock? Does enable "OBC" will enable temperature etc ? I suppose my usual savior @Vojno will save the day again ! Can these settings be also modified via winfkp or INPA (if i manage to make inpa work...) |

RE: K1300 K40 - NCS expert On Board Computer coding explanation?
First of all, thank you for your great trust!
Not in the order of asking: In terms of electrical system ALL BN2000 handeld (coded) with NCS! INPA is only for diagnosis, winkfp isfor flashing! This dash is "universal" I mean the hardware use for GS an K1200/K1300, its only casing is different and the scale of the instrument is different. - If you want to see outside temperatur, fuel range... this is Board Computer functionality, then add to VO 539 which is BC. But BC uses a foil sensor in the tank, which sucks for quality. It's easy to change BC to active in KOMBI!!!!! - Lamp warning is in ZFE but not everything can be turned off not quite like cars! Use NCSDummy for abbreviations! Either it helps or it doesn't! " Tank display enable (what will it do?..) " The folie sensor has too many failures, therefore sometime around 2010 they returned to the float potentiometer solution. Only the R1200R can't use this float sensor due to the shape of the metal tank. A level switch was used for this, therefore, the tank bar display must be switched off! KOMBI indicates only that the reserve level has been reached. And now let's hold on!!! The tank level display on one side of the LCD display is switched off, which would have caused an asymmetrical look, therefore, the oil temperature display was also switched off from the other side of LCD! This is an engineering solution!!!! but I suspect there is something else behind it. Vojnó

RE: K1300 K40 - NCS expert On Board Computer coding explanation?
You always have the response .. and it's within hours.. not days. I hope than one day i'll know half of your knowledge.. because, especially regarding motorrad.. There is almost no tutorial for advanced coding/flashing/Etc - I'm not even sure BMW ever gave this type of training to their techs !
1)Regarding NCS - I'm asking because for -LSTAND SANZEIGE ,BBVA,FFVB,FFBB I've no idea what they mean, and NCS dummy doesn't know either (No translation available) ! 2) So if I understood, the best way is actually to change "BC" to aktiv" within the KMBI_K25 settings with NCS_expert ? So it doesn't mess with the fuel reading ? Or should i just add 537 to the VO ? Or both do both ? .. 3) The bike in question is a 2009 K1300s.. so i suppose it still have the stupid strip?.. 4)Another strange discovery : the k1300s fuel tank is 19 Liters Km , so why "TANK_CAPACITY_100_PERCENT is 16.5_liter" in the KMBI_K25 settings? 5) I know that in the past you've said it's possible to code cruise control/ tempomat - ECU is totally capable of it - but did you ever encountered a k1300R/S with it ? I'm wondering if it's possible due to the (lack of?) space 6) Should i add " X510A Oil level warning, electronic" to the VO to activate the oil level sensor? Or just coding in KMBI will do? Thhhhhannnkks !!!! |

1) Yes, there is not much information.....
2.) Yes, the best if you change in KMBI -> BC to active, and in ZFE -> EXTERN_TEMP_SENSOR to active and don't forget to connect the tempsensor! 3.) I see that this is a floating beacon by default, but you can only be sure if you look into it os see in the ZFE config! 4.) I don't know the answer to that, but I've seen something similar 5.) I already put it in K1200GT, anyway, you have to get on the bike 6.) If you add BC (SA 510) the you have oil level sensor, of course, if the sensor is also installed! But my personaly opinion I was lucky enough to encounter crappy operation.... Vojnó
