BMW E61, can't connect to CHAMP HU with NCS
I'm doing this over teamviewer, he does have the latest standard tools installed. ISTA does show the HU.
When I try to read it in NCS I get the MASK option, not CHAMP, it throws the error coapi-2020 ifh-0009 I found a couple of threads on the interweb with no outcome. The car is standard, he does have a Mr12v DSP installed and I'm trying to activate the CD changer option so it works but as I can't read or write to it, I'm kinda stuck. Any of you geniuses on here have an answer so I can code the bloody thing? Thanks. |

Just a DCAN but the ones I tell everyone to get, it reads all the other modules without an issue, latency is 1, latest driver, switch either way although with it being a 2008 car it doesn't need pins 7&8 shorting.

Wondering if you or anyone else knows why it refuses to read just this one module with a DCAN cable?

It's because DCAN cables don't have a big enough buffer to read the ECU's coding file Author of Car Connector - remote ICOM & ENET tool - Built in VPN for easy coding and remote diagnostics Closed Beta in progress - Open Beta starting Jan 2024. |

RE: BMW E61, can't connect to CHAMP HU with NCS
Is it worth trying to default code it or will that also fail, and SG_RESET, is that just a reboot command?
Thanks again. Just trying to save the guy a trip down the motorway to get on my ICOM if I can. |

Sometimes you can code them and it will fail but the coding can take.
SG_RESET is the reboot command in NCS. You could send the guy your ICOM and do it remotely Author of Car Connector - remote ICOM & ENET tool - Built in VPN for easy coding and remote diagnostics Closed Beta in progress - Open Beta starting Jan 2024. |
