Hi friends,

I need to flash the ECU of my wife’s car, an Ibiza 6J 1.6 TDI, to downgrade it to pre dieselgate. 

I have the file, got it here in the Chiptunning section. 

But I don’t know what cable I need, what version of ODIS…. I only worked with VCDS so I’m a bit lost. 

Please can anyone help me getting rid off the awful dieselgate software?

VAS5054 with ODIS Engineering 12.2.0 on Win 7/10/11 X64.

Any good and cheap 5054 to looks at? It will work on a VM with W11 ARM x64?

I have read something about unlocking the ECU before flashing. It's mandatory?

You don’t need to unlock it because you are not chiptunning the ECU, you want just to flash firmware.
Good and cheap, depends, a good 5054A is 100-120 €.

The link you mentioned is the database for Engineering, not the program itself.

VCP will work but it’s terrebly slow, it’s at least 3-4 times slower than 5054A.
Long flash time = more risks
Short flash time = less risks

Ex: A 720kb flash file for gearbox with 5054A takes 5-7 min, with VCP over 20 min.
And ECU firmware are much bigger in size than a gearbox file.

I think you can still find the ODIS-E 12.2.0 install + open patch here on the forum.
Probably you will receive it on a DVD when you buy the interface.

Please I need help.

Like I said, my wife Ibiza has now 9980 software for 03L906023T.

I want to flash it to a pre dieselgate software using ODIS E.

Some folk in another forum said me that 9972 is the latest without dieselgate.

Another folk said that 6005 is the latest without dieselgate.

Please, anyone can confirm what is the latest software pre dieselgate for this ECU?

9972 is pre-diselgate.

Look at the sticker on the ECU, probably you will see 9970 stamped on it and other P/N not 03L906023T.

03L906023T is the P/N after dieselgate flash, initialy you had other P/N.
Dieselgate flash changes the P/N you see in VCDS/ODIS etc.
