hi,

ive tried to find vin on this chip but cannot do so. replacement secondhand cluster needs to be virginised. mileage is ok so only vin needs to be removed please. can someone please help?

It doesn't looks like correct read.

It's correct read. Problem -not full. No programmer on world can read it in full.
I met this problem (mini cluster newer one with led on side)
Only explorer reads eprom which looks like eprom.... Finishing with errors but 3x short vins are visible.
Write with explorer not possible
Programmers reads 2kb
Vvdi prog 3kb but it's 4 lines extra
Explorer reads 4kb and finish with errors but 3 short vins visible

Basically there's no solution.
However I came to point where milage reset and long vin (should be in your read).
Then fit it to the car and flash /code it.

Ok when you reset longvin ( I don't need to reset mileage) and fitted to the car.did you get it working?

I have done these clusters many times for my clients correctly without the red dot on the original eeprom, but unfortunately this solution is not intended to be shared.
