Cut immo line Hi , I've done this procedure on bench, ecu safir 2 35 pin ( i dont have car , it is my test ecu) Before : Led lamp was blinking ( immo on ) after ignition After : after iginition Led lamp is ON but after 2 seconds light was weak , and not more blinking, voltage off led lamp go from 12,5 volts to 5 volts and stays at 5 volts, lamp does not go off,,,,it is now immo off or ECU is damaged ( When I pulled off rubber )I see no visible damage. |

Wrong choice to pull off the rubber, those old ecus you can immo off with old tool Reno immo decoder, the best tool for the bench, 1h50mins it is enough for the job, Fenix5 ( silicon rubber filled ) and also Sagem 2 silicon filled, some Fenix 3 ...
This is the solution, you did not accept, now you buy an other ecu ... |

Thanks Alfabit, crabs and cutting off rubber is dangerous, it is a indeed stresfull job. I warning people who do it for the first time, there is a resistor that is very close to the 27c512 placed, I have today ecu tested on an friend his car, Car start perfectly,,IMMO OFF, after this procedure the test lamp must no blinking and if voltage of lamp go from 12-13 volt to 4,5 ~5 volt is work has been done successfully. I have today experienced something unbelievable, I have one more ecu Marelli SFR200 from twingo...35 pin same as safir. I wanted this ECU also test, but I have nothing changed in this ECU( immo ON). ecu is placed in car ,and car started directly,, no blinking led, nothing, like original ecu !! I thought this was ECU previously made by someone immo off, I have tested it on bench,,immo is stays ON...maybe this ECU has the same key/immo code as my friend's car..i dont know but car start good,,,( just a warning light ) I just wanted to share car: 1.2 8V clio |

Yes, about that MM you`re right, the dash LED on this means ( manual says ) " electronic failure " so someone fiddled with the ecu, succeed immo off, ok, but my opinion it has not succeed the checksum and internal ecu uP verify checksum, sees it is wrong and put on that LED. Engine starts perfect but you must put it off the LED for your friend`s ease.
It sems to me that MM can also be made virgin / off with Reno immo tool. |

RE: Immo off renault twingo safir2
Don`t worry about checksum, it is written in the dump for uP seeing if come out modifications due to a failure ( eeprom failure ), in your case modi of checksum is due to the immo off modi and not to an incidental failure, so not to be worry about.
Engine runs only you turn off that dash LED. |
