XZBMW  F40 icam retrofit on entrynav2
I have a f40 2020 with entrynav2 that i want to install reverse camera too

It doesn’t have ethernet switch. Camera is Icam2 it’s  g30 model Icam2-R with original g30 Icam wiring

With power, earth. Ethernet white & green wires and yellow wake up line

pins have been tested and connected to the bdc existing wires on pins 37 & 38 con 9

Tested also on pins 1-2 on con 9 too. which has existing wires also on those slots

And wake up yellow line connected to existing wake up line on pin 54 in con 8

Car has been fully coded with 3ag or 5dm but the Icam doesn’t show up in esys at all

Does the car need Ethernet switch to make Icam work

Ok got it working

so iv connected the pins in 1-2 in con 9 and as a test and removed the existing wires in those slots and the camera shows up under esys and works on idrive sceeen

So seems a ethernet switch is needed unless anyone has a work around this

Did your car have MGU or entrynav2

As all ethernet slots on bdc are taken up on pin 1-2 & 37-38

RE: F40 icam retrofit on entrynav2
First - there is a service function in ISTA to open connected ethernet ports. You don't tell us if you performed it (or corresponding job with tool32). If port was NOT used before it is CLOSED.

Second - you CAN'T connect multiple ethernet devices to the same port. If ALL ports on BDC are already used, you SHALL need the switch.

I have noticed many installs have all been on cars with MGU mainly

Similar to g30 they always had free port locations on cars with evo & mgu

The ista job was carried out before trying the above pin change that made it work
Yes all ports are occupied

Seems the answer is a ethernet switch

if 1+2 or 19+20 or 37+38 is allready in use, than you have to install ethernet swith and connect kafas with icam to swith. yesterday i have install ICAM with swith in F40.

you have to buy
61 35 5A0A438
61 13 9368538
and look for connector in air: A376*1B and 2x A376*2B
