Hello.

I know that some people had problems with configuring ICOM-P Next to programming and diagnose. This knowledge will definitely be useful to someone, I have several dozen ICOM-P Next units from the factory and I finally managed to run them so that I can freely diagnose, code and program them using ISTA/E-sys.

ICOM-P NEXT with this configuration works in the same way as ICOM NEXT, only via a LAN cable. It cannot be configured via WIFI because ICOM-P has blocked ports to the administration panel. If you want to use ISTA, you need to set it to use EDIABAS settings as in the photo below.

After all steps, you don't have to do anything Itoolradar (Besides, he is invisible in it.). ICOM is ready to use.

Step 1 - Restore ICOM-P to factory settings via USB (attaching below):

(Copy „ICOM_Restore.bin“ to the root of the usb-stick (USB 2.0 and formatted with FAT32) and
connect it to the USB-Port of the ICOM P
2. remove LAN-connector (RJ45) if it is connected to the ICOM P!!!
3. press the reset button (little hole neare the USB-sockert)
4. put the ICOM P on power and wait till all leds turn to solid red
5. press reset button 3 times in max. 5 seconds →all leds turn to flashing red

Step 2 - Configure your network card on your computer system with the following settings:

IP ADDRESS:  192.168.68.38
SUBNET MASK:  255.255.255.0

Step 3 - Change in EDIABAS.INI:

Interface        = RPLUS:ICOM_P

Step 4 - Change in RPLUS.ini:

[ICOM_P]
REMOTEHOST = 192.168.68.40

[LAN]
REMOTEHOST = 192.168.68.40

Yes, this restore file is only for ICOMP.

will this configuration also help with icomP models,
I have a file for it, restoring the software, it works
but I can't configure it with IP, even for a LAN connection,

Have you ever recovered one that only had the LAN LED lit??

I cant for the life of me, get it to read the restore.bin file!!

You should be able to restore ICOM from USB with my file without any problems. Maybe you're doing the sequence wrong? Remember that the RESET button must be pressed BEFORE connecting the icom to the OBD and must be pressed continuously until the lights start flashing. Then you press reset 3 times within 5 seconds. It's best to insert a pendrive with an LED, then you can see from the LED that icom is reading something from the disk for a second.

I don't know what IP is set by ICOMP after a factory reset in the older version. I'm sorry. If you do everything according to my instructions and you cannot connect to the car, it means that the older version of ICOM-P sets an IP other than NEXT. After the factory reset from USB, try to scan the IP addresses of the network card and determine what address your ICOM has.

I have now tried multiple times exactly as you describe, but to no avail...

I just now connected my USB tester to the socket of the ICOMP Next, to my surprise it has no power, this could explain my troubles...

Took it out the casing for easier access to the restore / Reset button. 

Also tried the USB access button.. No Change...

Just for the fun of it, i tried putting the USB tester on an Original ICOM Next A, i have borrowed at the moment. The USB port have power from Boot..

I copied the restore file from the 1st post to the USB stick and tried to do a factory reset on my ICOMP NEXT. It doesn't work. I pulled the restore log from the stick, and it says: unable to find the restore image file. Is this restore file for ICOMP NEXT or for ICOMP?
I confirm, the configuration for ISTA works.
