Mercedes CLA 117 Parking Lock 4Matic and Petrol
Hello, I have a Mercedes CLA 250 petrol 4Matic 2018
The engine is broken and won't start. I have to release the parking lock. Can this be done mechanically or electrically? Can anyone help me? I have to have the car towed to the garage but I can't get the car to move. Many thanks |

Hello, the engine won't start. Piston damage.
No gears without starting the engine. How do I get the gears from P to N without starting the engine? |

RE: Mercedes CLA 117 Parking Lock 4Matic and Petrol
Hello everyone,
The question has been resolved. For Mercedes, it is crucial to explain to customers in the owner's manual how to perform a kickdown with the transmission. However, it seems that no one can explain how to move the car without starting the engine. According to a statement from Mercedes, a crane is needed to tow the vehicle. |

RE: Mercedes CLA 117 Parking Lock 4Matic and Petrol
The problem is solved.
The first time I expected a Mercedes. Diagnosis engine damage, not ready to drive. Was brought by crane. With a forklift on the trailer. The problem was solved by allowing me to shift gears without starting the engine. Why I didn't get an answer from 3 Mercedes workshops that I could only tow with a crane. I can't explain why this isn't in the operating instructions. In any case, the gears of the 7G can be changed in the CLA 117 automatic without starting the engine. As I said, I only received engine damage from the customer and I only had to unload with a forklift or crane. I have no idea what all the stress is for. |
