EdiabasLib / Deep OBD / INPA/ISTA+ compatibility / ELM327 bluetooth Dongle
Hello !
I am quite surprised to not see a dedicated topic about this project / feature. Some of you probably already know about it and how it works, but for some others it may be useful. So this is an opensource project : https://github.com/uholeschak/ediabaslib From my perspective, the main goal of this project is to be able to diagnose all modules of our BMWs with a simple (compatible) cheap modded ELM327 bluetooth module. For a really cheap budget (you can even buy a ready to use if you don't have soldering skills) you have a full diagnosis BMW utility in your hands. (Be careful, not all ELM327 modules are compatible if you want to flash it yourself, read the github project carefully) There is an Android application dedicated for it : Deep OBD, it works very well. But the really useful feature in my opinion is the EdiabasLib DLLs. With this project, you can replace Ediabas Api32.dll and Api64.dll with the provided one, correctly set the associated config file and then you have a ISTA+ working in bluetooth with this simple dongle, handling ALL BMW cars from an old E36 (need the 20-pin round to 16pin adapter) to latest Gxx. Don't expect it to manage programming, it would be crazy to consider programming in bluetooth. I use it for my car since some years already. It can be left plugged to the OBD2 port, or in the glovebox. I personnally tested diagnosis on old E36 car with ADS protocol, it works great. With this only little device, for diagnosis, you can throw away ADS / K+DCAN / ENET cables... it handle all of them. Does anyone of you have ever used it ? any experience ? Hope you will like it if you never heard of it yet. |

RE: EdiabasLib / Deep OBD / ISTA+ compatibility [GitHub Project]
I'm use it for years, with Android to automate UDS-Jobs, also with ISTA.
With actual ISTA it have a problem, developer is working on solution. Really good project. |

Here some pictures of my E36 diagnosed a few minutes ago
As you can see, it works pretty well with a car where a K+Dcan doesn't (13-11-2024, 15:19 PM)Sedoy Wrote: I'm use it for years, with Android to automate UDS-Jobs, also with ISTA. Good to know ! The demo I just did is with Ediabas 7.3 replaced bin folder. |

I don't have SQLiteDBs FR for 4.50.x yet. I don't need to rush for latest release until I have it.
But as soon as I catch it, I will try (13-11-2024, 15:35 PM)Sedoy Wrote: Try with 4.50.xx. Maybe USB working but Bluetooth not. The demo was with ilean release too (4.49.40) but with 7.3 instead of 7.7 |

The bug is already reported to developer. For ISTA is need little rewrite EdiabasLibConfigTool. Developer already working on it and if done he send me Testversion, or i compile it self from sources.
