I had updated my DME module ISTA an got the Engine malfunction - reduced power fault this must be retrofitted to remove the fault ?
I have downloaded the document above this is same for all E90 RHD an can be done DIY
Another thing where can I get the parts my local BMW dealer was giving me a lead time that next year, I just need to get that fault out to sell the vehicle.
Any other ideas or help would be appreciated

I'm still not convinced the latest software version solves the vacuum sensor error on our 2010 N43 with automatic transmission.

There's new software in 3.65 (E8X-18-07-520), I would like to install this version but first I want to make sure the error doesn't come up again afterwards. I'm not planning on actually installing the vacuum sensor. Up 'till now I got the problem fixed with WinKfp and downgrading the ECU software (like you can read in earlier posts here).

Anyone able to comment on this?

This error means that u need retrofit sensor. BMW dealer did it for me 4 months ago for free. Warranty case. They just retrofitted new sensor and reprogrammed all car again.

The problem is chain guides break on the N43 and bits of plastic end up in the sump.

In some cases these bits end up blocking the oil pickup meaning there is oil running round the engine but pressure a bit low.

The vacuum pump is one of the last bits to be lubricated, so this issue can end up in a reduction of available vacuum.

Cars with manual gearbox already have a vaccum sensor fitted as part of the start-stop system. This is so if the car is stopped and the footbrake is repeatedly applied causing available vacuum to drop too low, the engine will start automatically to make sure brake vacuum assistance is always available.

Automatic cars didn't have this sensor from factory but the quality enhancement campaign involves fitting this sensor to automatic cars for free, and reprogramming auto and manual cars.

The software update adds functionality to detect if the vacuum pump is not performing as required so it can display a warning to the driver.

Also a check is performed to see if the chain has stretched and I've heard of cases where everything has been replaced for free on cars well out of warranty.

Great info, thanks. I was aware of this retrofit but not planning on doing this myself. And so far I've been able to get rid of the error by downgrading the ECU software (this is what this post originally was about...).

I asked the local BMW dealer a while ago for the vacuum sensor recall, but they stated there wasn't one for our 2010 E91 N43 automatic currently. So that's strange, and I've never been contacted by the BMW organisation for a recall.

Hi Carlos
Did you update your DME with the V65 Daten through winkpf, did it solve the problem? Anyone else updated to v65?
Thanks
Graham

Me Again

Just for your reference, I tried to update mine with winkpf v65 but i dont think my setup was installed correctly as i received an error when flashing the ecu.
Anyway got a little frustrated trying to update the software   angry so i phoned BMW......apparently there is a recall out on mine for this fault so its booked in for the 24th of this month, for the battery terminal, heater unit aswell as the vacuum sensor...all free recalls.....hopefully a win win.
Ill let you know how it goes.

enjoy

Since BMW did this retrofit i got random red engine + brakes warning pops up. In INPA the error 14082 unknown location is in DME memory. Engine performs good so far, any ideas ? Most the time the error pops of after engine start and a few meters of rolling with light foot on the brakes...
