I'll try to reinstall TIS, because it seems that there is no proper communication between the cluster and tech2, however I'm pretty sure I did connect OBD 2nd contact with cluster contact A6.

It also may be the problem with Tech2 itself, since the connection between laptop and Tech2 is sporadically loosing or I didn't figure out something smile

Kinda gave up on this one for now. I can strongly feel, that something is not right with Tech2.
I did try to reinstall the TIP from CD that came with Tech2. Still same thing exactly. Time to time loosing connection with the device, if the connection is not lost - doesn't retrieve any data from the cluster. I did try to run SPS in Tech 2 mode - no response from control unit, also in Pass thru mode by choosing the IPC Setup (doesn't read current calibration, doesn't program the unit - it shows that it starts to program, takes couple seconds, cluster restarts, some kind of warning pop up (without single word shown, only "retry" or "cancel" buttons)) and by IPC Instrument Panel Cluster - doesn't get to programming screen at all (no response from the control module).
Does it sounds like a problem with Tech2 or the problem with me?
BTW when connected to laptop there is distorted picture on Tech 2 display. Not sure if it indication of a bad unit.

If it's a clone Tech2 all bets are off. With a working copy of TIS2000 all you need is a J2534 Passthru or Tech2 for offboard programming modules. The harness is easy to figure out, power ground and Class2 data line. (yes it is Pin A6)

You have the cluster powered up with battery and ignition pins and an adequate power supply?

Yea, Tech2 clone I guess, since I paid under $400.
The pigtale in the cluster I have:
Power to B11, B9
Ground to B12 A12
Data to A6

I got pretty good digital PS, 13.5V precise Voltage. Both the cluster and Tech2 were powered by this power supply from the same output channel (to make sure they are on the same power circuit).

I ended up returning this unit to seller, because I suspect something is not right with it.
Open for the suggestions of the reliable J2534 pass thru adapters working stable for flashing/programming with TIS2000.

Folks, can anybody confirm if Tis2000 SPS is working with Mongoose Pro GM II cable?

I did read the conflicting info - someone is saying that yes, someone is saying than no. I did ask the seller on eBay and this is his response:
"Unfortunately, no - Tis2000 is not supported with the mongoose cable. This cable and all other j2534 pass through devices like it are intended for use with Tis2Web, GDIS and other subscription based services for module reprogramming. You can purchase these subscriptions online, and they are available in affordable 1 to 3 day subscriptions if it is not something you need to use all the time."

Also what about the Cardaq Plus? Currently I'm only interested in TIS2000 SPS and not insterested in Tis2web.

Update.
I did ask same question to Drew Tech support guy regarding the Cardaq Plus and he also told that they doesn't support it.
"We do not support TIS2000. It was discontinued by GM in 2009."

Ok, I did try to take my chance and ordered Tactrix Openport2 adapter. Should get it here in couple days and will test is with TIS2000.

While I'm waiting for the device I just remembered, that I did have one questions for a very long time. What happened to the cluster?

RE: 03-07 Silverado Tahoe Avalanche Hummer H2 etc programming, upgrade, problems - Clusters - 10-03-2017

Corrosion on the back of the circuit board, common on 2003-2004. In 2005 they used a conformal coating to prevent it, but it still occurs in some spots causing the battery light to stay on.

So you say this is the same cause that making the language scrolling? I did see it couple times and some sources did refer to the shortage in the power supply, bad processor, bad eeprom, bad flash. Next time I'll see it will definitely start with corrosion removal.
