Fault code 2A61 N46 engine - Fx82 - 06-07-2017
The car got an error with the valvetronic.
Data of the car: E90 2006 N46 engine.
The fault code which is stored is:
2A61 - Not possible to store learning values in EEPROM
I looked up the history of the car and the servo motor + eccentric shaft sensor already have been replaced with new ones.
On the cluster there is a red car symbol + the message electronic failure. Go to the nearest BMW dealer.
I did measure the voltage on the servo motor which is between 4,3 and 4,7V.
I also checked the wiring and it all looks good.
I've searched the internet and found only 2 topics. 1 topic there was no reply given and the other one had a wiring problem.
Does anyone has some tips what I should check?

I managed to get code 2A61 out. I've reset every ecu and it would store the values again but it doesn't make sense anyway that code is cleared.
Still got the error of electronic malfunction with the symbols of steering sensor, abs en handbrake.

As i remember in documentation its mentioned that servomotor should be 5v
maybe vin mismatch? check UIF using inpa

Luckily I know the history of the car and al modules are original only it has a cic unit but it has been installed in the car for 1,5 year.
I measured the voltage when the car was on ignition. I compared it with another car and it show the same voltage.

2A61 - Not possible to store learning values in EEPROM
You need to replace valvetronic sensor common problem ,,, check connector , if you have oil that is your sine is bad ...

seems logic they like split in oil

Maybe servomotor is stucked? Check through rheingold if angles are same (desired and actual)

Have you checked the Timing.......? It could have jumped a tooth and casing that fault code.......

Servo motor is working perfectly. The proces of teaching in can be successfully executed.
I didn't check the timing but if it would be the timing I would get a misfire code.
The electrical error is the one that needs te be solved.
