I will repeat myself, but it is really important - replace or clean the relay contacts and check again

Why is not worth to spend money? You need new servomotor. Not used, must be new. Replace with new servomotor and recalibrate it.

I will repeat myself also. Relay has been tested completely.
Power supply has been tested completely.
Load testing of power supply has been performed to 20A and it's perfect.

It is not worth spending the money on a new DME.

The Servomotor has been replaced with new Siemens VDO item already.
However, it cannot calibrate because the DME can not drive it.

RE: E90 N46 Valvetronic
How about a used DME then you clone the current DME? But you would need an ECU programmer for that

This is a 2006 E90 320i with the N46B20B engine.
This is the MV946 DME.

Codes stored are for Valvetronic.
2A70 - Valvetronic, plausibility: sporadic current fluctuations
2A69 - Valvetronic, power supply actuator motor

Servomotor has been replaced - no change.
Wiring has been tested from Servomotor to DME - all ok.

ISTA+ suggests to renew DME. However, this car is not worth any money. Is it possible to repair the DME?
Is it MOFSETS?
It appears that the 'drivers' or power supply for the servomotor from DME has failed.
Everything else works ok.

Does anybody have picture or repair procedure for this?

Many thanks to all
Have u solved the problem? I dont have pictures but i know it can be repaired.

Try to clamp contacts inside Valvetronic connector, and try to learn vvt, if it helps, than change vvt connector with new one.

I also had this error with a N46 couldn't perform adaption. Everything point to the dme but I didn't believe that.
After replacing the battery with a new one I could perform adaption.

MGU virgin and patching in Europa.

RE: E90 N46 Valvetronic
Are you sure the valvetronic eccentric shaft is not seized? Or to tight for the motor to move it? That is the most common problem I see with these engines. If you unbolt the motor from the cylinder head and attempt to learn the end stops does the motor now spin? Dme turns off power supply to the motor when the faults are stored.
Hope that helps you.

Not solved yet. I don't know what to do with DME.

As I have said already this is not the problem.

It is not this either.
The DME won't drive the motor at all.

I'm certain the shaft is not seized. It was obviously free when I was fitting the motor.
There are no faults stored that would cause the DME to turn off the motor.

The fault relates to the DME 'knowing' it can't drive the motor.

THIS IS A DME FAULT.
I'm asking how to fix the DME.
