RAM chips are not good as they are not 5v but rather 1.6v-3.5

I believe ram chips are 5V. A5780a is original. It is the same one I purchased same as original.

Voltage regulator needs to be soldered ?? Where?
A1040 I have no clue.

Run the test with vas pc and you will find out smile i bet you wont get “OK” with this chip set. i’ve spend lots of time on 5 clones to get “ok” result and ended up to buy original chip, A5780A if is not original gives 700.2115 error!
also, you need 5v voltage regulator install below that tja1050 and remove that joke transistor!

A1040 is the TJA1040 CAN chip, which is equivalent replacement for TJA1050. There's nothing wrong with using it.

Correct, you can not tell if A5780A chip (and probably OKI) is genuine just by looking at it.
Not that you'd need either chip, so efforts can be placed elsewhere.

RE: VAS5054A PCB Difference
What is the point of reworking the unit and leave few chips just because you wont probably need them, for what they worth may as well change them.

Thank you for useful information from all of you. I will post some feedbacks later also. I can do test now. Does VAS-PC work on Win 10 x64? I will do this job on my unit.

RE: VAS5054A PCB Difference
LT3010EMS8E-5#PBF or LT3010-5, 5V its got to be is what I’d mean.
and what I came across also is if you test it on the bench and apply only power to pin 16 you get the fault 700.2230 but add power to pin 1 ignition on and the fault is gone and shows OK
