RE: VAS5054A PCB Difference
Can anyone give confirmed link where to get original AMB2300? I have tools and parts to rework but AMB2300 is hard to find. Can even trade my tool(partially reworked-with issi ram and voltage regulator) for original AMB2300.

RE: VAS5054A PCB Difference
What's a nice thread with lots of info here!! Cool! Thanks guys for such a detailed info here!
Does anyone was able to make reworked clone to works with D-PDU API 1.20.042? My adapter was reworked a couple of years ago and succesfully passes the VAS-PS test, but I find out it does not works with latest D-PDU API 1.20.042. I have 5v 55ns memory chips, may be it is the reason. |

I forgot to mention that I have good AMB2300 module. And I notice how long it takes to update firmware everytime I switches between different D-PDU API version. So my AMB2300 works good I suppose. Despite that my adapter does not work with .042 (and works good with all others including .041). So my assumption is that other chips or/and RAM speed may influence the support of .042? |

Thats why you need to use 1.20.41............. I heard that reworked clones are able to work with original .042. One guy just replaced chips and thats it - his reworked clone started to work with .042. Just curious how it is possible. It is intersting if anyone from this forum is able to confirms this. Guy also tried to read dumps of Am29F160DB + AT93C46 + XC161 from reworked clone that works good with .042 and then flashing it to other good clone. But that does not brough the .042 support to other clone. So it looks like pushing good dumps to reworked clone is not enough. |

RE: VAS5054A PCB Difference
My clone died on me, good that notebook is fine becouse it shorted badly. As you can see there was alot heat going on. What was that missing part fuse, resistor, capacitor? The little one marked on second photo is also bad. Could someone check their and share with me? Its oposite mini usb slot. Wanna try to change and see if its going to be working. It's not seen by pc anymore but when it is powered by 12V it blinks normally. Could someone help with troubleshooting? USB module might be fried i guess. This one is bad bluetooth version so can't check that way with my odis.

Need to replace VeCom/vas5054 from 1.20.41, then it is recognised otherwise does not work with 1.20.42 (or replace 1.20.42 fully with 1.20.41 and firrmware downgrade to 1.20.41 also). Tested odis-s 4.4.1 odis-e 8.2.3. I believe newer Odis check for serial numbers. |
