Understood. I could read the ID via Golf7. But it's to dangerous for me not to have the ori file for future work (ckecksum correction). So I have to wait until I can buy a newer china clone or upgrade my current device.

It is same protocol same crc...I write caddy 2015 same as yourse no problem...but if you re not sure beter take ecu out and read bootmode

look on the attachement the protocols enabled for new firmwares
and will understand for what need update with new nxp and sdcard

Better read with boot mode? I have read in forum if readin/writing with OBD edc17 and you want write mod file car wont start? or its everything ok? or better only in boot mode? Thx

this is true if you dont want risk anything...but many times when pasword from tricore was not decripted by any tool I had no other option than write virtual file...or let car go..I am speaking for newest edc17..old ones before 2010 depend on tool but most of can read/write by obd

Hi, ok now I understand what is the boot mode of ECU EDC17.
Is there any hardware/software available which can read EDC17 without boot mode? Directly on the OBD socket?
