I did that yesterday evening. Rheingold was still starting in English (first start)

Database error on startup may mean:
a) you have not selected the correct language in the Rheingold settings
or
b) the language database is missing.

Hum...Rheingold starts in English, I change it to fr-FR in the setup menu (as well as my interface to EDIABAS instead of icom) and everything works well (in French then)......until I close it. The next start, it switches back to English and icom.

beemerboy88 is right, the english database (en-GB) is missing in your "SQLiteDBs" folder. And your Rheingold is configured to start in English

1. you have to edit your Windows registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold]
"TesterGUI.Language"="fr-FR"
and
"TesterGUI.xVM_VCI_DefaultInterfaceType"="ediabas"

I modified the first key (second was already set to ediabas).
Rheingold keeps starting in English with an icom connection (even after a restart), as if it wasn't paired with the registry.

I tried merging the *.reg of the Rheingold folder with the registry as well.


I suspect something went quite wrong with my install and Rheingold isn't reading the registry

I reinstalled it three times, there's a minor improvement: now, when I change the settings in Rheingold, they appear in my registry as well

But even with the language set to fr-FR (in the *.config too) and the interface to ediabas, it still starts in English and wants me to use ivm, as if it was the first time I run it (every time, I get the "Preparing for the first start" message).

Besides that, it works, I just did a diag on an E87.


What's crazy is that I'm the only one to report such an issue.

It works perfectly, including the diagnosis files and work flows. I am using a DCAN cable on an E71. Many Thanks Maarhyna

I originally installed Rheingold 3.41.10, including the license. I then extracted 3.42.30, copied all the files over the 3.41.10 version excluding "license1".

I then double clicked the 3.42.30 registry file "rheingold"

I did not click the registry file "aBTO"

I then copied the English language files provided by beemerboy88 (Thanks ). Lastly I changed the resolution using the files also provided by beemerboy88 (Cheers )

Check the settings in ediabas.ini has to run you on a e46.
