I also installed LT3010 and it is not good at all. It will make the tool not power on. Just 1 flash of the LED and off. I put the original chinese design voltage regulator and it worked again.

Big thanks to the Fantomel for providing component pics.I replaced all of the components except two 5.6 ohm resistors.Need to find 5.6ohm high wattage resistors now.

I replaced 3 leg Chinese regulator with LT3010EMS8E-5#PBF from arrow and its working OK.I also installed LT1976EFE. Installation of these 2 chips would not be easy without hot air station because both these 2 chips have ground plane under the chip.Trick is to put solder on the bottom of chip and on the board and then use hot air until solder melts which make the chip settle to its correct position and then solder the legs.
The chinese 1977EFE chip i took out did not have ground plane at the bottom.

Zener diode was soldered in a wrong direction.

I was comparing the 2 clone boards and found that one of the zener diode was soldered in a wrong direction on the board i get 700.2115 error.I thought correcting its position might solve my 2115 error but correcting its orientation didn't make any difference.
Does anyone know the function of this zener at this specific location on the board?

So does it mean that having 700.2115 , it has already passed 700.2116 (AU5780A test) and AU5780a is good?

Now i am stumped with this self test sequence.

I was having 700.2115 error and was thinking that it checks AU5780A chip first,so my AU5780 is good.But i was wrong..
I removed AU5780A from the board and i was expecting that i would get 700.2116 but NO.I still got 700.2115...
Looks like it tests in a numerical order??.Go figure..

It would be easier to install all missing components and then test, so instal an original oki, au5780a and original TJA1054 the one your board came with. Maybe memory modules have to be samsung and not any other brand.

Memory chips are not limited to Samsung at all. I think that you already saw the picture provided with Cypress memory on original interface. All you need is to respect the type of memory ,speed and voltage.
Based on that fantomel already provided compatibility list from all providers in his rework and from those in our days ISSI is the one you can find easy.

P.S. Attached is picture from original interface with CY7C1041D-10ZSXI memory chip and a compare with current revision of it and ISSI one to make for all choosing more easy.

I gave it one last chance to get 4 samsung OEM memory from China after last purchase did not look original (specs maybe different than original or same) .Will post pictures soon.

If their product is not as advertised I will use heatsinks. (Memory cooler) which I would install even if I had 5V (hope space is enough). Note I have 10ns but 3.3V.

I hope I can fix it too, but I have other tools that in combination can do the same so I am not in a hurry. (VCX nano can do all apart from flashing, and VCP can do flashing)

I did get most of the components from rswww give it a try, thet have ISSI IS61C25616AL-10TLI SRAM 4Mb.
after buying 3 chinese clone eventualy the 4th time I managed to get HQ VAS5054, just need slight touch one voltage regulator LT3010 and one RAM, they install 2 diferent, anyway. Its the first Vas 5054 that works straight from the box, even the buzzer is working. I swaped few diods and resistors but for once I am very pleased with what came out the box

Hi, yes I know. This PCB is v1.10 2005, I have access to good working HQ clone with with PCB v1.11 2008, take a look at this diode

Are you saying the diodes absence are to blame?? The 2 diodes are not for better protection???

This looks like just a 0 ohm resistor(aka jumper).I don't know why they installed it as there is already a trace underneath it joining those points.

BTW that 3702 is a voltage comparator and i believe its used in ignition sensing by the MCU of vas.I am in the process of replacing all other chips found on that daughter-board.Will provide the chip info with pics.
