RE: 2006 E60 INSTALLING USED DME EK928_5
Your Ecu is Siemens ?
your Cas is 2 or 3+ ? if cas 2 its easy if cas3 + ISN is encrypted when get ISN from used DME there is some ways for CAS2 modifie ISN from used DME with checksum 08 bytes for CAS 3+ more complicate need tools like bmw explorer, ecu explorer , abritus working key + cas3+ file + used DME ISN |

(24-10-2016, 06:26 AM)DJAMY Wrote: Your Ecu is Siemens ? I have Bosch Motronic ME9.2 It has 2 flash files that I can retrieve with my Galletto 4,One file is 2mb in size and the other is 514kb in size, I would like to figure a way to virgin this ecu or if someone could change the isn code to 99 77 I tried using bmw immo editor and it would not work.. Also I don't have access to the expensive tools like bmw explorer or autohex, and I saw where I could possibly use xprog-m to read/write my cas with another isn code but don't feel comfortable as of yet doing this,if something goes wrong my car would not crank and leave me stranded with no way to work until I got it sorted,so my easiest and best solution is the donor ecu I have to make work.. The software I have available is bmw tools,ista-d /p some immo off software but nothing seems to handle this type ecu ,can you advise me on what to do from this point, one member on this site that is very knowledgeable says I need to write donor isn to cas 3 black box but I would have to buy a programmer and that seems too risky for me ! |

So, you don't want to buy expensive tool and you don't want to have a risk by using cheap unreliable programmers.
I advise you strongly to send your car (or CAS and DME) to someone who knows what he is doing, check with bawareca, I guess he is in US too. |

Thanks for the non-helping advice but I do know what I'm doing, trying to do this in a safe manner as to not disable my car,and some of us out here don't have the money for your expensive tools...

I can change the ISN in the DME dump for you, but someone has to calculate the checksum because you will get a "Internal fault" error.

Ok great,at least that will be a start,I know this can be done this way I've seen where others have successfully done this, can you point me towards any members that possibly can calculate checksum ? The Galletto 4 v54 I use bdm has an automatic checksum at the end of writing process that it does,I've have wrote to a few ecu's with this device and it works perfectly every time ! |

RE: 2006 E60 INSTALLING USED DME EK928_5
Barareca,a member on here is telling me he can maybe calculate checksum using ecu titanium and in the process can do a slight tune which would be nice,so if you could change the isn code to 99 77 in the flash I should be all set !
