RE: 03-07 Silverado Tahoe Avalanche Hummer H2 etc programming, upgrade, problems
Just got the crazy idea - what if the cluster cannot be connected directly to OBD connector? may be it is using some of the modules (e.g. BCM) as a gateway and can be only connected through it?
BTW, I'm trying to connect the cluster on the table, not in the car smile

Clusters can be flashed off board on the bench with no other module present, it is done all the time.

If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!

May be then A6 contact on the cluster corresponds to the contact in OBD other than 2nd? Because it seems that computer doesn't see the cluster with the current setup.
I did purchase j2534 pass thru. Installed it into TIS2000.

I have no idea what you're doing wrong, the Class2 data line at Pin A6 goes to Pin 2 of the DLC.

Just read your previous posts again, you sure the Tactrix Openport2 is compatible with GM?

Cluster:

Power to B11, B9
Ground to B12 (A12 is illumination ground and not needed)
Data to A6

DLC:

Power to Pin 16
Ground to Pin 4&5
Data to Pin 2

-------------------------------------------------------

Edit: Just checked out their site....

General Motors Tis2Web Minimal Testing CAN vehicles only

Looks like you made a wrong choice in passthru.

If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!

RE: 03-07 Silverado Tahoe Avalanche Hummer H2 etc programming, upgrade, problems
That's exactly my setup. I did install TIS on 2 computers. Both got the same problem.
Regarding the Tactrix - I was under the impression that as long as the device comply with J2534 standard protocol - it should be compatible (I may be wrong though).

But to cover the bases I did also purchased the original MDI. Hopefully it compatible with J1850. Should be delivered somewhere next week.

Clone tech2 that I did try last time also wasn't working with the same setup.

RE: 03-07 Silverado Tahoe Avalanche Hummer H2 etc programming, upgrade, problems
Ok, new update. I guess I found what was a problem with Tactrix. One connector in OBD was loose. I still have a faith in it smile

I did shoot the quick video of what I do. For some reason programming is happening momentarily. I may suspect nothing is being programmed in real (or I'm doing something wrong).

I also did receive MDI. Will take some time for me to figure out how to connect it to PC and how to set it up in TIS2000. I think, my MDI is asking me to update the MDI manager to MDI Manager 8.3.103.39. Anybody got an idea where I can get this version because the one that I have (8.1.135.13) doesn't connect to MDI.

What is the most recent version of globaltis? I need it only to upgrade the tech2win to the latest GM NAO available. Currently my Tech2win is default.
