RE: ICOM A2 Quality (PCB PICTURES!)

It wasn't too expensive, not yet sure on the quality...the pictures in your post are from original icom a2.. Yes, it is an original. I didn't get to troll too many people, you were quick and sharp. I am curious why the USB port was cut off, and the board was somehow programmed to disable the Ethernet port (after much testing). It is in wifi only mode. Any way to fix that? I can probably solder in a new USB port, but I already attached an ICOM A1 LAN/USB/Fan head to it to try to do a reset/restore, and it didn't seem to read from my USB drive when the 4 red light were flashing for the restore bin. Here is what I received for dirt cheap (1st picture) And what I made out of the parts. (2nd picture) I swapped out the A2 board (non working LAN and USB) from one of the spare A1 boards. I still want to revive/fix the A2 board somehow. Of the A1s only 1 board had solid red lights (with quick yellow flash on startup), and I couldn't yet do a restore on it. I would like to know how to fix this one too. The rest work fine. 2 of the OBD heads do not power up the ICOM, so I labelled them as BAD. I would love to be able to repair those too. It isn't a ribbon problem. |
