Heya all
Another BMW issue. I have a 1998 BMW E39 525 which the EWS & key has been replaced. (Old EWS TOAST)
What is the easiest solution to get working via OBD connector??
Read DME with Kess V2/VG Tech V54 and IMMO off with IUD 3.2??
Read with ROM Raider , Open MS41 or Siemens MS41 Flash Tool & remove EWS from file??
IMMO emulator?? - Still need to read ISN from DME & editor to write ISN to emulator??
Another way to read & write ISN to either EWS or DME then sync
Or just burn it n have another beer???

Send the original file ,galletto (PIN_OUT_ECUS)

Does car crank? Is starter working?
IF YES, just align EWS with INPA or similar (even the simple program called "EWSSync.exe").
If you have matched key and EWS module, you do not need delete. It's much simpler than that.


IF NO (car does not crank):
Post 24kb partial flash here and we can do it easy. EWS disable in MS41 is simple.

Then you must remove EWS module and bridge the black/yellow starter lines.






EWS delete in engine control module by itself will not solve issues with starter cranking (when key is mismatched). EWS module controls starter function.

Yes car cranks, but not start. Tried to sync with BMW scanner 1.4 - Fail
Read file with FG Tech 24kb

To align ews you need to connect to the 20-pin port under hood (bonnet). PASoft 1.4 is OBD port only (but you can try using an adapter). Although I am not sure how good PASoft 1.4 is with the early cars.

Thanks for that. Tried EWS sync first. It only read 3 symbols 6AB or something, tried to sync, Ign off for 15 secs - Not work
Had a look at 20 pin connector, no pin 2,14,17.
Had a quick look for a hidden 16 pin OBD inside car, yeah nah
Have told him to go get full matching kit, DME,EWS & key
Had enough for the week

Whoops, forgot this was European version only.

Apply +12V to pin 18 (programming voltage, enables WRITE MODE), and program via K-line (pin 20).

My method works for sure as well.. Wondering why you're changing lambda sensor feedback in his file?

I need immo off total ,i hawe only ecu and engine
ms41 tool no working!Fuel pump ok ,but no spark and no  injector pulses ,wires are all ok -tested with inpa  on act =injectors working!
