X3 M57 Check engine light missing!!
I have an X3 E83 with crank no start.
I have not had much time on it but I notice check engine light is missing!! I don't have much experience with diesels but I believe it should have check engine light. I cant see how DDE is connected to IHKA except via can bus. Is check engine a direct connection from DDE or its via can bus? Checked SSP for KOMBI on this car and cant see any direct connection to DDE so it must be via can bus if not from EWS. Any leads? The last time I saw this scenario is when I tried installing a CAS2 in a CAS3 car. Worked but there was no check engine light and valvetronic was not working. Interpreting the missing check engine could lead to quicker resolution of the no start problem when I eventually get down to it. Tried another DDE from an E90 and same behaviour. No check engine with ignition on |

Open cluster and check if someone put something behind the plates. To hide some engine faults seen it a lot.
