XZBMW  BMW F10 Change CIC HU
I have to change old HU with used one because HDD on old one is defective.

Can I only swap HDD or it's better to change HU?

After that I  must to change VIN for navigation to work and probably to recode with E-Sys to show Vehicle Info and CBS.

Quick and easy is to patch with FSC repair pack and everything will work.

I need advice what to do and how to do?

Thanks

RE: BMW F10 Change CIC HU
This is nbt HU, you can’t swap hdd because it’s locked to unit. If you search you will find a way to clear current fsc, with tool32 NBT.prg and you will be able to import repair package.

Ah nice haha, if hdd from cic is faulty you can download the hdd clone from this forum. There is also information on hdd type. Swapping cic<->nbt isn’t going to work different hdd type and partitions etc

Sure always possible but a little complicated in case of older F1x because of zgw. For start you need screen, further it varies depending of optioncodes current car has.

RE: BMW F10 Change CIC HU
Customer was today at my workshop, he has bought one used NBT but he has tried before to swap HDD from used one to the original one.
His thought was that this can work.
After changing everything I have VO coded the used NBT unit and erased all FSC and try to import custom FSC but this didn't work, every time was rejected.
I have tried to patch the unit and this didn't happen too, probably someone before has tried something and now it's not possible to import FSC.
How to solve this problem with importing FSC's and activate navigation?

RE: BMW F10 Change CIC HU
Do a TAL-Calculation, check if HWEL is black and flash it with Esys.

If you want it easy, try ISTA+ with an ICOM.
