Hi all, i'm new around here! Just want to firstly say a huge thank you for this forum to start off with. Lots of helpful topics

Just want to apologise if I get things wrong, still new to coding my E92.

So I have a factory fitted CiC with Combox. Works great as should, but it doesn't include BMW Apps. I find the music functionality within iDrive doesn't actually change tracks and is a little clunky so want to install BMW Apps, Spotify specifically.

Firstly, my understanding initially was that I would need to enable within the headunit. I then have the issue of FCS codes as I wouldn't be able to get one. I then found a post on this forum ( https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=23198 ) which is the SWTPatcher post, which I've followed the install guide and all makes sense however i've just got a few questions:

If I edit the 009C0001.fsc file (which I understand is BMW Apps) then I adapt to my legit vehicle VIN number and hit Upgrade FSC. My understanding is that this will then upload the file to the vehicle. Does this then mean BMW Apps will be enabled in my CiC iDrive and that's it? Or will I have to do anything else like enable the bmw apps option within the headunit? 

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

yes, swtpatcher can enable 9C (bmw apps) but you should need code CIC unit with VO 6NR
first mean Swtpatcher "overwrite" all FSC, so you will lost all original FSC and is overwrite with hacked sign FSC´s, this will not be a problem.

but you can check first if your unit have old firmware you can update unit to V41 and you can enable bmw apps without FSC´s. after this firmware fsc is need

Brilliant thank you, 2 more questions. Can't seem to find a clear answer on the site (i'm sure there is one somewhere) but how do I code the CiC unit with VO 6NR? Also is there an easy way to tell what version of firmware I have so I can tell if I need fsc or not

Thank you, just trying to work out exactly how everything's going to work. So I add the Attribute $6NR, do I add this to both the CAS and FRM?

Yea thank you, I understand where i'm writing too just wanted to confirm where I'm writing too really so i'm writing to CAS, FRM and also CIN? 3 Places I need to add the $6NR attribute too?

yes, just add VO $6NR to CAS, Clic in FA_write. after go back and same but in NFRM.
after this you have $6NR in VO.

go to CIC module, change job to SG_codieren. and execute job.

if you follow video this is very easy. this procedure is valid for all retrofits
