RE: e60 stalls
Throttle body can be faulty as well and cause the internal error due to bad adaptations from throttle. I've seen this failure variant a few times.
Sometimes it was the dme, sometimes it was the throttle body. |

RE: e60 stalls
The only way I see this.
1. Car dies only when injection and firing stop. 2. DME will always log a fault if there is a reason why ignition or injection is failing and it is trying its best. 3. The only way the car should die without DME logging a fault is if its power supply is getting interrupted. It cant log a fault if it is not powered and it also cant self interrogate if power is gone. DSC should log a fault that it cant see DME but if it also logs nothing them a main power supply is failing. Trace power supply connection points at junction box, and grounds. Also start thinking about junction box. With a vin I could go over the wiring and share what I think. Connect a meter to dme supply and ground and do a live run. Check if voltage is still available when car begins to go. I think it is a power supply fault before dme relay. Main supply line and or ground |

Its two days and for now its ok. I want test it more because by me feeling the problem occurs more when it was hot outside and its raining now. Anyway it looks promising. |

RE: e60 stalls
I still want an explanation how an oil sensor can cause engine stall. I like to understand the theory behind a repair, not just do things because it worked before

RE: e60 stalls
I looked at my old notes. Only a bad signal was saved. At some point, the oil level sensor generated a very high frequency signal compared to the correct signal. As far as I understand, this bad signal restarted ms45 (buffer overflow or something else, I don't know) - at this moment the diagnostic connection was disconnected.
