RE: BMW e60 2004 525 D batery drain over night
Its not bad. It just does not have time to charge properly because of your driving habits. If your trips would be at least 1h long it would be better, especially in colder climate. AGM battery is better in your case because its able to charge much more rapidly and is much less sensitive to cold. So even short trips will charge it much better.
There may also be an intermittent problem, which causes car to awake. I would check if trunk wiring is ok. Because wire insulation breaks down near the point where wires come out of trunk holding tube on the right side of a car. Just above battery under the next trim piece. There is a rubber grommet inserted into the tube around the wires. Wire insulation quite often is degraded inside of it and begins to short circuit randomly. |

I disconnected the mpm with engine on and the CCC shut off .After I disconnected the mpm with engine off and when switch ignition on the CCC didn't start . I think mpm is ok . Last summer I checked the wires from trunk and one wire from trunk was

RE: BMW e60 2004 525 D batery drain over night
CCC is fully powered by MPM so disconnecting MPM is the same as disconnecting CCC. That tells nothing.
Few weeks ago I had one E60 for which I replaced two damaged wires about a year ago. This time ALL other wires (well maybe except one or two) had damaged insulation and the ground wire has snapped totally thus not allowing trunk to be closed at all. If you had one that means that others will follow... |

RE: BMW e60 2004 525 D batery drain over night
E61's definitely have a problem with overnight battery discharge. For them either the tailgate glass button goes faulty or the wiring to the tailgate fractures.
With the faulty switch moisture and dirt provide a low enough resistance to look like a switch activation and just pressing that button, on a locked, asleep car, wakes it up. Fractured wires provide a floating input to the control unit and that can be seen as a series of button presses to unlock the car. Even a locked car that was fully asleep will be woken by that floating wire. A fractured wire will flatten the battery in a few hours. It will also mean things like the CCC will be awake. Pulling fuses may just remove high current consumers so the battery takes longer to run down. If you have a floating wire then the wake up is random which makes systematical removal of fuses very misleading. I have also heard of a faulty door lock causing the same problem so if you have a door that struggles to lock or unlock that could be the culprit. Of course ISTA won't see a fault because the problem is caused by what looks like an attempt to open the trunk or door, which is totally normal. |

Exactly what I am telling, except:
1. E60 do not have glass button 2. If car is fully locked/on alarm and trunk closed input is intermittent without unlocking, EWS will register the number of trunk open events. Which can be seen via diagnosis. |

I'd check those trunk wires first. They're highly likely to be the cause but if they are all perfectly OK then you can look elsewhere. Having said that I've seen one where the copper had fatigued inside the insulation so the wire looked intact but if you moved it you could hear the trunk release activate.

I don't remember exactly and don't have any E6x to try.
