VO Coding a replacement DCT transmission on F82 M4 in E-SYS
Hi everyone,
I am having problems VO Coding a replacement transmission that I installed in a F82 M4 race car. The old transmission was getting tired after doing 30,000km worth of competition racing. I installed the new transmission, and plugged the connector as normal, and everything seems to be running fine. However, when I tried to install xHP, it showed me a message that it's a different car, and I need to buy a new licence. This is because the VIN number for the transmission TCU will be from the donor car, which is different to the original VIN of the recipient car that the licence was purchased for. So I opened E-SYS and tried to VO Code the EGS4 module (TCU), but it's greyed out. I can VO Code or FDL code any other module with no issues, except the EGS4. The EGS4 doesn't have the small green tick next to it, and when I right-click on EGS4 to VO code it, everything is greyed out. Any help appreciated, thanks. |

1. F8x DCT EGS4 don’t have cafd, so you can’t VO code/inject cafd.
2. you should contact xHP, their apps verify both VIN and mechatronic s/n. |

Also the car won’t even go into neutral or any gear other than park, so forget xHP issues now, the whole car is upset that the transmission has a different VIN than the rest of the car, and it's refusing to move. Eventually, I replaced the TCU, took the one from the old box and put it in the new DCT gearbox, and everything is working well now. But what's the correct way to replace the TCU between one F8x ///M car and another F8x ///M car? If there's no way to code the VIN to the new TCU, that means there's no way to actually swap complete DCT transmissions between different F8x cars. Edit: I've contacted xHP and they changed my licence on their app to work with the replacement DCT transmission, but the car still doesn't want to move from its place. One I replaced the old TCU on the new transmission, everything worked again. It's definitely the VIN mismatch that was causing the issues. |

With the replacement TCU, did you try calculating TAL with your vehicle FA and flashing the TCU?

Then that’s ISN issue. At the beginning OP just focus on xHP and didn’t mention that it even can’t do gear shift.

No cafd in this gearbox so just flash it with correct vin.
No gear change because its immobiliser protected. If you have flex I can help with |
