n55 engine turns off itself if we start moving immediately after the first start
If car staid 1 day in the garage and we will start engine and move car immediately, engine turns off. If need 3-4 seconds to run not to shut off after the first start.
If I move car immediately after second third start, works good. Ista does not show anything. I thought software upgrade fixed issue but not. Raill pressure good. Fuel pump seems also good too. |

RE: n55 engine turns off itself if we start moving immediately after the first start
Since its not coming up in ISTA, presuming it's not the ECM or MAF... Could be one of the following:
Fuel pump or fuel filter: A faulty fuel pump or a clogged fuel filter can cause the engine to shut off due to a lack of fuel. You can try checking the fuel pressure to see if it is within the proper range. You can also try replacing the fuel filter to see if that resolves the issue. Throttle body: A faulty throttle body can cause the engine to shut off when the accelerator pedal is not pressed. You can try cleaning the throttle body to see if that resolves the issue. |

the MAF and the throttle body does not work conventionally on this engine.

are you able to go in reverse or drive? i had an issue with my x3 just staying in park on idle, and then sometimes shutting off when put in gear and brake let off.

RE: n55 engine turns off itself if we start moving immediately after the first start
It is f15 auto.
It drives good all time. Problem is only immediately pressing on the pedal when car is newely start after long waiting in the garage. Situation 1. I left car 12 hours ago in garage. I started engine now and without waiting 2 seconds started moving, engine off. Started car again and went without problem. Situation 2. I left car not 12 but 1-3 hours ago in garage. I started engine now and without waiting 2 seconds started moving, now no problem. This will happen when rail pressure drops or injectors leaking but I could not find a problem. If it was fuel filter, would have problem every time. Same about maf sensor and trottle no? Time creates problem. If car is not used for about 12 hours, then we have problem. |

i suspect a defect in valvetronic or vanos if no external air leaks.

Important is that problem is only first start after long waiting car in the garage. Need to wait 2-3 seconds to drive car. |
