RE: TMS FRM3 F10 Coding issue
Thats what I thought as well, but reading other posts this problem seem to appear due to ISTA+ expecting a new TCM when initializing - it even states when trying to initialize that you need new tcm, not used. So I am pretty certain that the TCM´s that are used get some form of info written when they are initialized the first time. If that block already is occupied ista wont initalize. On newer cars I never have come across this issue. Easy peasy with esys just inject cafd and then initialize.
I ordered two new units from BMW at 400$ a piece. Exactly same numbers on TMS. With these ones the initialization went fine directly. So car is fixed. No problems at all. Can we agree that there is something that needs to be done with used TMS on cars with FRM as upposed to those which have the TMS in the ECU tree in Esys? Found this thread that seems to be onto something but missing arguments to get it running. The car is fixed now but still want to find out what needs to be done https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/used-...ci.962391/ |

RE: TMS FRM3 F10 Coding issue
I have had this issue since. Used lights on pre-lci would always have adaptive light error. Flashing and coding does not resolve even though lights work. Adaptive function obviously would not. No solution so far.
On LCI it is easy to flash the TMS so presents no big problem. |

Finally, I am not the only one I did have an idea of mounting the used TMS in a LCI, code default values and then back to pre lci, could work. But a bit of a hassle.. |

Saw some posts about some one who claimed he could resolve but the trail went cold. Since then I just get new TMS for pre LCI lights. Easy, quick. |

RE: TMS FRM3 F10 Coding issue
Ok, a little update, it is possible to virginize these quite simple - hook it up to a LCI car, code to default in ista, read fdl so that vin is removed. Then it works to use as "new" in pre LCI also. Should work with a bench setup with fem module. so SOLVED.

RE: TMS FRM3 F10 Coding issue
Anyone got solution for this?
We have two cars here. F07 and F11 preLCI. on both TMS died. NEW OEM is really expensive, we dont want it, waste of money. We tried two aftermarkets. One was faulty - AHL fault and second is without fault but the lights turn itslefs to right direction. Like on picture in attachment. Of course we code default FRM and initialise. Initialisation went well like ISTA said. But still not work properly. So we decide to uncode it. Remove 524 and code default FRM didnt help. Adjustment fail occur on dash. Next thng was i had FRM in coded without AHL but only from TMS_ID parameter i set the same wert what was on AHL set. Fault from dash gone, headlight beams centers but only till you reach 100kmh. After that it again points beams to totally sideway. So Im stucked and dont know now what to do. Maybe idea - will be BIX nonAHL TMS work in AHL lights? We just want to get rid of this stupid problem with light, without spending 500EURO for new OEM TMS. and BIX nonAHL is way cheaper in aftermarket and those worked on non AHL cars. |

RE: TMS FRM3 F10 Coding issue
Non OEM TMS don't work on AHL Lights. Known problem.
For non AHL TMS you need non AHL headlights. The lens is not fixed, it will not work. If my post helped you hit the thanks and reputation button. Thank you.
