any way to power on an motor cluster as an ornament?
I have an idle mechanical instrument removed from a 750gs. Is there any way to power it on and display time, temperature and other information? I think some simple USB devices may be able to simulate some CAN bus signals for it. It would be quite cool to put it on the desktop as an ornament.

possibly can simulate but for "real" the sensor for temp is not in the cluster

I tried to power on the instrument by connecting +12v and grounding, but the instrument did not light up. It seems that it needs to be connected to the GM or ECU module to work.
