XZBMW  Problem with E93 325I Misfire 3 cylinder
Hello I have a problem with an e93 325i year 2007. I get the error message
29CC misfires multiple cylinders
29CE Misfire cylinder 2
29CD Misfire cylinder 1
29CF misfire cylinder 3

I measured compression. she is ok.

New injectors and ignition coils are installed.

The error is still.

Does somebody has any idea?

I tried to do a software update (because someone tuned Pop & Bang before) but couldn't find the ZB nr at WINKFP

VIN of the vehicle is Py97087

ZB NR from engine control unit is 7635168

Maybe someone has an idea

Have you looked at fuel trim values AT ALL before parts cannon??? AFAIR these engines are prone to misfire when lambda probes are crap. And they have two of them (for each 3 cylinders) so if you have misfires in 1-3 that SHOULD HAVE BEEN a direct giveaway to look at lambda FIRST. Of course leaky exhaust collector can also cause that (due to skewing lambda measurements).

thanks for the fast answers. yes siemens msd80 but i dont have 30BA or 30BB . i know this problem and i changed some Mosfets in the past on other ecu. i have opened the ecu and the mosfets has no erros.

@node i will take a look at this. can change this 2 lambdas to test if the error goes to cylinder 4,5,6,?

and its not only misfire. the car have problem to run .. it goes off after few seconds because of the bad engine runing .

AFAIR their wire lengths are different. But if you (somehow) manage to connect them, yes, you can. But the effect will NOT be immediate until engine relearns. You will have to drive tens of kilometers at least. Much easier to just see values and if they are at the limit (don't remember exactly if that is +-15 or +-20 or something of that order - you have an answer). Or at least significantly different from the other bank.

So no other faults at all, just these? If engine has trouble running it could also be air mass or some temperature sensor then. IMHO in ADDITION to lambda. Just if there is another issue, it may actually be different lambda... But this is a pure educated guess. You should REALLY look at live data.

RE: Problem with E93 325I Misfire 3 cylinder
yes only this errros no others.
but when air mass sensor, then all cylinder must have the problem and not only 1,2,3?

i will check the lambda and if that is not the problem i think to change the ecu.

other option is firs before ecu change - update software because someone have tune pop & bang on the car. maybe there is a problem. but the last owner tell me he has drive 2 months with this software and after that the problem is coming.

Oiled, burned, sooty or??? "not so good" does not give ANY information...

BTW have you checked an exhaust pipe is not obstructed (meaning no flow/melted/clogged) from all those pops and bangs?

RE: Problem with E93 325I Misfire 3 cylinder
exhaust not checked. i will do that with the lambda check. the plugs was black oiled. and 6 new installed

i also will have original software and do update on ecu.
ecu has ZB 7635168 , i searched this nr in winkfp and want to update his zb nr again that all will be original. but i cant find this zb nr .
