I swapped the CHAMP2 of a MINI with a virgin one, because the old one had a boot loop. However, the new one came with North American maps.

I didn't expect that it would be a problem, so I installed the FSC codes. All codes are accepted (1B, 24, 46 and 8E)

After that, the navigation asked for the map update code, but I did not enter it since the unit contained NA maps.
I then inserted a USB drive with Western Europe 2023 maps and entered the map code that I calculated. After that, the head unit jumped back to the main menu and navigation was grayed out.

If I now insert the USB drive, it asks if I want to update the maps even though they are not newer. If I continue, it hangs indefinitely in "Preparing update". I waited at least 15 minutes.

The map code FSC 88 actually got accepted.

If I reset the unit, I can enable navigation for a few seconds and the NA map is still present. However, it quickly goes back to the main menu with grayed out navigation.

Does anyone know how I can get European maps installed?

I tried inserting the SD-card from the old navigation. In that case I can update the maps, but after the update it won't start the navigation. It stays on the loading screen indefinitely with the old SD-card.

I tried _steuern_persistency_clear. That does complete but only resets the unit and does not solve the issue.
I tried steuern_navi_maps with arguments 0x00 and 0x01 and in both cases I get ERROR_ECU_SECURITY_ACCESS_DENIED, see attachment.

Signature on flash and on SD card must match.
You can't swap cards easily on CHAMP2.
I can make your CHAMP2 virgin,but I need the unit.
I can also repair the old one.

It was virgin before I loaded the FSCs, so how does making it virgin again help me? Also I don't really have time to ship the unit in this case, although it is good to know that you can do it.

I updated the maps on the old SD-card to the latest version, with the new CHAMP2 unit, but as stated before the navigation would not load (even though it accepted the MAP update code and updated the maps without problem)
Today I put the SD-card with newly updated maps back in the old navigation and that somehow fixed the bootloop. I did not even have to enter the map update code, so that was somehow stored on the SD-card as well. Even the GPS position and latest destination address was stored on the SD-card (I tried to navigate using the new unit during the map update)

I still have this brand new navigation with NA maps that now has European FSCs and refuses to start navigation. The car to which the FSCs belong doesn't need a new unit anymore. This problem existed before I even swapped the SD-cards, so it must have something to do with the NA maps being present. If I send it to you, can you virginize it and change the maps to European?
