BMW E90 177PS - sebastianfernandes - 18-02-2019 Hello Guys Sorry, forgive me for being ignorant i am new to chiptuning.. I would like to tune my BMW E90 320D 177PS stage 1 I have kess V5.017 and ktag V7.020 clone with software v2.47 provided on the forum. I have read the ID as follows with Kess HW: 08512498 SW: 1037509478 VIN nr.: WBAPN37090XXXXXXX SW ver.: Spare: 08516775 Engine: HW Ver.: 0281016110 SW upg.: 08516820 Installation: Its DDE8 8506438 from my understanding and research it happens to be EDC17CP02 My question is Should i read it with Kess or Ktag. Searching on the web, most say that this ecu needs to be written in boot mode or bdm? So anyway i will have to open the ECU. I need to make a full backup before writing just incase something messes up. Backup with Kess or Ktag? I will post my file after reading, please if anyone can help me tune it stage 1. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Forgive my ignorance. Thanks in advance. RE: BMW E90 177PS - 8baller - 18-02-2019 what age is the vehicle? i dont have the list that people use to sometimes tell whether its safe for obd or not by the bosch sw number i would make full backup by kess, why not, and then work with ktag in boot safest way RE: BMW E90 177PS - walshy155 - 18-02-2019 That ECU is tuning protected, check my thread on about the same ECU, read and write via tricore bootmode to be safe All the best! https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=46782 And see RE: BMW E90 177PS - sebastianfernandes - 18-02-2019 Thanks for the advise guys Car is E90 320d LCI 2009. RE: BMW E90 177PS - sebastianfernandes - 21-02-2019 I just read the ecu via Kess 2.47 ODB. Can someone please check if this is good read? So i know my tool is good. I will then proceed to read it in tricore boot mode. Many thanks |
