5AS Driving Assistant + 5AG Lane Departure Warning -> No KAFAS? - Florissilfhout - 10-09-2019
Hi,
I can't get my head around this:
F30 with 5AG and 5AS, trying to activate 8TH (Speed Limit Info) but there is no KAFAS ecu in SVT in E-Sys? How does 5AS work then? (VIN: A694947)
How can I still get SLI?
Edit: SVT looks like this with ignition on

You must to have fsc for sli and you have kafas because of 5AS. Did you try this what DavyG write?

Start the car.
Engine must run for KAFAS to start and to make it a visible ECU.
Same on my G31.

Do you have the KAFAS camera in your windscreen? It could be that you don't have KAFAS system. 5AG is lane change warning that doesn't use KAFAS rather it uses radar sensors in the rear bumper. Check for the camera, then it will solve whether or not you should see KAFAS in your SVT tree.

So you definitely should have the KAFAS2 ECU in your SVT tree. Ensure that the engine is tunning and hit read ECU in E-Sys.

KAFAS2 ECU was found after starting the engine and SLI was activated successfully!

Glad it’s sorted. It’s because your KAFAS camera is on a 15N ignition fuse. It’s only available with the ignition on. I know this as I’ve been looking at ignition switched fuses for a towbar install.
