BMW F10 M5 gear selector switch retrofit on regular F10 - leungsk1 - 19-12-2022

Hi guys,

I have successfully retrofitted an F10 M5 gear selector switch on my regular F10 520i.  The selector switch works as it should (e.g. shift to D/N/R and the DTC and parking buttons work)

Only one thing - whenever I stop the car, there is an annoying CC message prompting on both the instrument cluster and iDrive saying "Unable to change transmission position."  By looking up from ISTA, the corresponding error should come from EGS "CF3141 GWS interface (operation gear selector button P 1 2/operation, gear selector button P 2 2/operation, gear selector button, park, 0x197) signal invalid"

Can anyone please advise how to disable this warning?  Much appreciated.

Don't work correctly. M5 has DKG and your car has 8HP. Signals are different.

Yes I am aware of that.  Actually someone from Singapore did the same retrofit, and from that YT video I think they successfully suppressed the error message so believe it is doable.  Check below.

Hello!

Think, he disabled the cc message in cluster.

Do you know which code(s) to disable the cc message?

I also seen someone do this kind of retrofit by disassembly original gear stick and DKG gear stick, and then combine into one without warning.

You do realize you disabled 8 messages (the one you needed and 7 others)? smile Because those are bit coded. Also the fault in ISTA will remain.
