Changed VO but ISTA still sees wrong transmission type - thecarfixer - 29-06-2023

See my other thread, I’m going through a manual conversion on my R55 (mini clubman). I’ve changed the VO, default coded modules and reprogrammed the DME, no fault codes are coming up.

Only problem is, ISTA D shows the EGS and there’s a no comms from EGS fault. The drive type on the car info is wrong too.

My question is: is that populated from the car somewhere, or is it stored in a database against the VIN?

I’d like to tidy that part up, if possible..

Does this answer your question? From ISTA's diag database.

P.S. Have you updated FA in the car??? Could help.

I did update the FA on both the CAS and FRM (verified but I’ll check again)

Looking at your pic, that seems to corroborate the idea that the assembly info in the ista database carries that build data..

not necessary to clean that data up. If all control units report no errors with missing EGS and FA and coding were done correctly, then move on to the next job.

Ista d uses vin db to identify, you can not correct this. The real check is in ista p for your car.

Thanks, that makes sense. No errors other than the No comms to EGS, but that’s fine..

Update with the correct SVT and MSM (in esys)

Yes)) time for vacation)))
Confused with F5x.

For R55 use older version ISTA (ex. 4.10-4.19) or change vin giggle

Haha, gotcha. I’ll file it under ‘ignore’. And I’m sure the naysayers would just say buy a manual car..
