It depends on the Admin Client you are using. For the old one 1.1.808.3 try using the value above 3.54.2.002.

After applying 3.54.2.002 to this key I can start ISTA/P with unchecked "start as loader".
I will try now to install the update.

Just managed to install this.
however in preferences i can´t choose ediabas like in my rheingold 3.46
only enet/ICOM.
will it work and get a connection to the car? i can´t test it right now, so do others have the ediabas option and does it work with them?

you have to add _PLUS in the testergui.config

The first installed package has modified files, take a look at the error log above (blue lines).
The loader or you has changed some XML files and so no update installer will run because of the file redundancy. (May the use the same secure hash algorithm SHA-1 as in the HDD Updater.)
You have to restore the original files set before you proceed with the next update.
Threr are two important things make a backup of the ISTAP folder installation in the Program data path before the next update.
And second you have to take care that enough free HDD space is available (180GB or more)

I have found the solution to this!
I don't exactly know what causes the trouble, but I think it happens when you run ISTA/P the first time?
All I know is that it worked on my laptops...
Yes... It requires that you install ISTA/P again!
(Maybe even an fresh install with the Admin client and ISTA/D?)
But it don't have to be on the same computer, you want to use it on..
So leave that and either create a VM or just use another physical machine.
After installing ISTA/P (v. 3.56.0.500), DON'T run it!
Just copy these two files to your desktop or somewhere else:
"TaurusClientConfig.xml" in "C:\ProgramData\BMW\ISPI\data\TRIC\ISTA-P\BMW\Client\layout\"
and "popupAdministration.xml" in "C:\ProgramData\BMW\ISPI\data\TRIC\ISTA-P\BMW\Client\layout\maskcontent\"
After copying the files, run ISTA/P and check that it works.
Close ISTA/P entirely and then copy back the two files and overwrite them!
Then you can start updating to v. 3.56.1.002 without (hopefully) any problems. (:
(I did a fresh install with the Admin client and ISTA/D on another laptop, but I don't know if that is necessary?)
UPDATE:
I thought that if I can use the files between two laptops, others can use them too...
So I have uploaded them to a temporary location:

Hmm...... After updating to 3.56.1.002, i noticed that ISTA/P isn't showing in Admin Client?
(To be honest, I don't remember if it was before updating)
I don't think it even matter, but is there a way to fix it?
Isn't it just the regedit who is missing some info somewhere?
Or could it maybe be because we are cheating and changing the Productversion to be 3.54
2.002?

I'll guess that it still works?
To start and use the tool, you have to login, and since that is still possible, I think it works just fine?
You could also just connect to sangandi's FTP server manually and download the needed files.
(The tool is downloading from same place and info can be found in an earlier post)

Hi, i have install ista/D an ista/P with this tool, all is ok, but when i try ISTA/D in F series i cant make diag, im using a icom. anyone know what i did wrong?
in E series i can make diag and program.
