How did you managed to extract the log-files?
My laptop still tells me that the file can't be opened as a archive, and if I try to extract it to a folder, it tells me that 7-Zip can't find the code that works with archives.

just rename the file ending from .7zip.log to .7zip.
then right click, with an installed 7-zip v9.20 (download it from 7-zip.org!), and choose "extract to "filename"folder with 7-zip" and it's done.

Don't say that it is the free space again! :P
But right now, about 80,6GB free?

Later I will try to delete all the installation-files from the hard drive (desktop) and then run the update from an external USB drive, to see if that helps.
That will give me around 100GB more free space, I think.

you need 180gb unless you edit the MSI with Orca to 00

I have 400GB free on my C: Drive and get the same error like DICKHILL!
So the free memory isn't the problem for that installation.
No I'm trying since 3 days to install this software but no luck. I downloaded all necessary files and installed the product like posted in the first posting of this thread with the beta 3 Version, I read all posts in this thread about 4 times but still the same Problem while installing ISTA/P
ISTA/D-PLUS seams to run, I haven't checked it with a car connected but the Programm starts, nevertheless actually after 3 days I've got only a "Rheingold" running on my Notebook but still want to have a complete ISPI-Next installation.

The log files are not really helpful, the "InstallLogs-3.56.1.002-4.0.2" Directory stores only one file with the information "INFO: Starting CustomAction 'WriteFingerprintOn'error".
after rename the 7zip.log files to 7zip and extraction of this file to a directory I found the following information in the log before the PostRollbackCleanup starts.

Can anybody help out with the problem?

Notebook is a HP EliteBook 8530W (Intel Core2Duo T9600 2,8GHz), Windows 7 x64, 8GB RAM, Seagate 1TB SSHD and latest Windows Updates installed including .NET v4.5.2

well in here it says its your popup administration file , it states it exsists but is different from what is expected.

did you remove old version of ISTA/P ?

Nope... Doesn't work... (:
I already got v. 9.20 and I have tried to rename the files..

But it doesn't surprise me that I should experience things that no one ever have seen.

So will forget all about the logs and just keep trying until I get pissed enough too throw out the laptop (o:

After removing ISTA/P from Notebook and reinstall as described in the first post:

23. Click on Download under ISTA/P and download .istap and .msi
24. Click on Installieren under ISTA/P
25. Complete the installation
26. Click on ISTA/P Button
27. If the error occurs Usage period has ended click on Butten Fix Usage period has ended
28. Click on ISTA/P Button again
29. If the error occurs JIT Debugging Error click on Butten Fix JIT Debugging Error
30. Click on ISTA/P Button again. And show it works.

23 till 25 works fine.
on 26 I get the JIT Debugging Error when starting ISTA/P with the "Start ISTA/P as Loader" option active.


ok, ich clicked on "Fix JIT Debugging Error" as in 29 and startet over...
same result with Debugging Error Message!

ok, I tried to start ISTA/P without the Loader Option activated.
Now I get the usage period ended Error!


tried to fix it with click on "Reg Fix" as in 27 and starting over...
same Error on next start without the "loader" option..

I haven't installed the Update "BMW_ISPI_ISTA-P_3.56.1.002" SYS and DAT yet because I can't install this update without the Premature End Error.

perhaps I missed something or the installation instruction is buggy.

Try the following, open regedit and take a look at
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BMW\ISPI\TRIC\ISTA/P] "for 64bit systems."

"ProductVersion"="3.54.2.002"

It depends on the Admin Client you are using. For the old one 1.1.808.3 try using the value above 3.54.2.002.

After applying 3.54.2.002 to this key I can start ISTA/P with unchecked "start as loader".
I will try now to install the update.

The first installed package has modified files, take a look at the error log above (blue lines).

The loader or you has changed some XML files and so no update installer will run because of the file redundancy. (May the use the same secure hash algorithm SHA-1 as in the HDD Updater.)
You have to restore the original files set before you proceed with the next update.

Threr are two important things make a backup of the ISTAP folder installation in the Program data path before the next update.
And second you have to take care that enough free HDD space is available (180GB or more)
