It depends, as it gets complicated with some modules. Any module that stores UIF is a simplified answer.

There are certain modules that won't work using that method.
Examples would be KOMBI, CAS, DME/DDE.

and which control unit are not possible for vin change? i'm doing now the dme bought from ebay

Not sure why you didn't provide that detail earlier.

The DME will not work even if the VIN is correct. It has nothing to do with vin. There are security keys stored inside the dme. It can be very difficult to match a used dme. Not for the inexperienced.

At least provide the car, engine, and ecu type.

VIN stored in the DME is irrelevant so don't waste your time with this here.
Car will start with different VIN
You need to virgine that DME then resync
EEPROM readers etc is what you need, or expensive programs, which you won't find on ebay
