Hello all. I have an E60 2003 Years 530D
Two weeks ago, the car battery ran out. I was able to run the battery after recharging. Then the black screen problem started.I hear disc noise. Starting-Turning repeats always. Disc eject button won't working.Lights on CCC working. I tried reset iDrive with eject mute combination. No response. I checked on Rheingold Ista-D software. M-ASK or CCC doesn't see in control unit tree.Just I see M-ASK-GW and can reach functions(Read hardware number, change fan speed, show voltage) And I can reach to MPM but show fault's. Also on Ista-D I can check MPM module (Read hardware number, relays, show voltage). All fuses are OK. I saw an error today in Ista-D "E184 CD / M-ASK / CCC / RAD2 / CHAMP -GW K-CAN line Fault " ![]() Where should I start to check? My CCC is Dead or it's can be wiring fault or what? Sorry for my bad English. |

RE: Help!! CCC stopped work (BMW E60)
At that age the CCC can die. Often it's a loop where it fails to boot up. You get the sort of ISTA-D results you are getting.
There are 4 Intel flash boot chips (BGAs) that are the most likely cause. People try re-flowing the solder. There are some power supply electrolytic capacitors that people replace too. My theory is that the flash chips have reached the end of their write life because replacing them fixes the unit. There's a company in Romania called MCA that specialises in fixing CCC's for around 200 Euros. |

RE: Help!! CCC stopped work (BMW E60)
A used one will work but as said above it must be coded to the car or various menu items won't be present or work properly. It should ideally be programmed with a software version to match the rest of your car as well.
The problem with a used one is that the older ones are starting to suffer from the boot loop problem. So your replacement may not last that long. The Nav DVD drives fail too. If yours is good you could swap that over (no coding needed for a DVD drive swap). If you did just buy one and plug it in, you could be lucky and everything, or at least most things would work. |
