Hi there everyone,

Not too long ago I did a NBT retrofit to my F20 that had HU_entry before, so no combox. Everything went fine using a VIN emulator and coded it successfully using E-Sys. 

The only thing that's been really bothering me is that no matter what I do, I always get the error code D916C3: CAN message, emergency call status (ST_ECAL): Timeout.
 
But I already deactivated ECAL and even added TELD to my FA that removes the combox. Also tried to FDL code it out by changing anything related to ECAL to off.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe its the VIN emulator causing this?

Just wanted to get others opinion on this before doing anything else.

Whats the VIN of your car? If you have coded it correctly you should not have gotten any SOS errors unless you had a combox from before.

You have added TELD to FA, but did you code KOMBI with this FA?

Yeah KOMBI is also coded with TELD in FA as the KOMBI is also retrofitted to 6WA cluster, fiber optic cable also present and connected. Everything is coded right and everything works as normal and its just boggles me.

Car never had combox present at all before. The FA for the NBT is identical to the FA used for the rest of the car apart from the VIN number from the donor car which was left to retain the FSC codes, so all correct equipment list. TELD is on both versions of the FA.

Ended up figuring it out the problem.

Even though TELD was in the FA, I also had 6NL for bluetooth but what I didn't know is that it also includes BMW Assist so it was conflicting. Removed 6NL and replaced it with 6NK and the problem was gone as well. So all good in the end
