I've got an E70 diesel X5 that exceeded the milage countdown for the "incorrect DEF" CC message. I repaired the SCR efficiency and fluid issue, but can no longer start the vehicle. The one-time milage reset via ISTA is not working and BMW will no longer IRAP the vehicles to allow additional miles. I'm told a DDE replacement is the only option I have.

Has anyone worked out a solution to either program or bench flash these DDEs in order to reset that milage counter? I can't disable the SCR or DPF monitoring as I need to remain federal EPA legal.

You will need to write a good eeprom file to your DDE. After that you will need to write your original ISN and injector coding. Of course, do coding too.
