ICOM A2 DHCP or Static IP address
Have an ICOM A2 and this is first time for me to use it with ISTA/P for programming. So, from practical experience please advise is it better to leave the ICOM A2 in DHCP mode or to give static ip address.
I'm asking this because I noticed the following. Just for practice I started an ISTA/P session. When the scanning finished I did not add any action plans. After that the system LED on the ICOM started to flash with occasional LAN LED flashing. The ICOM could not be found by ISTA/P and thus could not start another session. This state lasted until I shut down ISTA/P application. Then the ICOM was back in normal operation but the IP address was changed (checked with Itool Radar). Starting ISTA/P again was normal and it could find ICOM again. So, lets hear your thoughts. |

RE: ICOM A2 DHCP or Static IP address
I use ICOM Next and i have a static IP because all of my network clients with web interface have static ip.
If i want change the config i need no tool to seearch the aktually ip-adress. I think you use the ICOM only at home or with your own computer, so a static ip is the best way. |
